Equi-Stat started researching and compiling statistics in 1985. At that time, the cutting horse industry had become a multi-million dollar industry but there was no single source for complete information. Earnings from weekend championship shows were recorded, but no records were kept for money paid out at aged events.
Over 20 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars have been invested by Quarter Horse News in the research and development of a vast database. Equi-Stat was the first of its kind to compile and publish statistics and has since become "the source" for statistical information and an important part of the horse industry.
In 1993, Equi-Stat expanded its database to include Reining, Reined Cow Horse, Barrel Racing, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Longe Line and Halter events.
We continue to strive to maintain an accurate, complete and fair database that reflects the industry's top riders, horses, breeders, owners, sires and dams.
